This talk explores how queer and women artivists in the Brazilian Amazon, from vegetal drag to the hands of women who embroider, create embodied ecologies of resistance. Confronting the violences of dams, pollution, and extraction, their performances bring bodies, forests, and rivers into relations of care, memory, and insurgency. Through gestures of refusal, mourning, repair, and collective survival, they challenge extractive ways of seeing the Amazon while making other relations to land and water perceptible. Blending performance and ecological artivism, these practices move beyond resistance alone to imagine other ways of living with threatened worlds, where to resist is also to root, to stitch, to listen to rivers, and to breathe with the earth.
